UiTM PUNCAK ALAM
Students who are in a foundation year supposedly located at UiTM Dengkil throughout semester 1 and semester 2. But with the current outbreak, UiTM authorities have decided to locate students of TESL, law and engineering course in Puncak Alam to avoid crowd and minimise the risk of the deadly disease.
As expected, majority of the students disagree with the decision because of many reasons. But who are we to disobey the instruction given? We were instructed to move in to Puncak Alam in August 2020.
On the registration day, parents were only allowed to drop us in front of the Berlian Hall. It was sad truthfully. I never have any experience in living alone, especially thousands miles away from my family. I tried to be strong that day but unfortunately Im not as strong as I thought. I did cry when the bus that is going to bring us to our residence took off but when I arrived, I gained my strength and stopped crying.
I was located in 9th floor of Dahlia 3. When i first step in the house, realisation hits. I am now responsible for every single thing that related to myself. My parents will not knock on my bedroom door to remind me things, no more assistance from anyone. It is all on me at that moment. Im not saying that Im not independent before I enter college but the it is so different with your loved ones around to be compared with being alone.
Since there is a list of standard operational procedure that the government have set up for Malaysian because of the Covid-19 outbreak, we have been given the whole room for ourselves where it supposedly to be shared by two people. Im quite grateful for it because I really cherish my personal space and I was not ready to communicate to anyone at that moment.
This is how my room in Puncak Alam looks like when I first enter it.
I pushed myself to unpack even though I was physically and mentally tired at that moment and this is how my room look after that.
The food in Puncak Alam will forever be one of my favourites. It is so affordable and comes in a variety. I will always take a picture of my food before eating it back in Puncak Alam because it is so satisfying.
Since Puncak Alam is very spacious, one of activity that we can do throughout our time there is wandering around. The distance between one location to another is quite farther that is why the journey becomes fun and exciting, especially when it is with my classmates. In Puncak Alam, there were a lot of activities that we can do together and my expectation towards it initially is so contradicting with what it actually makes me feel. Here are some pictures that I managed to capture when we were in Puncak Alam. That beautiful place makes all of us unite and that's what makes me love Puncak Alam the most. Truthfully, I do miss staying in Puncak Alam due to many reasons. It is such a blessing in disguise.
