FUNDAMENTALS OF LISTENING & SPEAKING (TSL 034)
ABOUT TSL034
Fundamentals of Academic Writing (TSL024) is one of the core subjects that Im taking in TESL Foundation course. My respective lecturer for this subject is Miss Sakinatul Ain Jelani.
In this subject I have been taught about mastering basic listening and speaking skills in English.
THE LEARNING PROCESS
For semester 1, I have been introduced to plethora of topics such as:

Stress and rhythm
ASSIGNMENTS
Me and my course mates have been assigned to two major assignments in this course. The first assignment require both group and individual work meanwhile the second assignment is an individual work.
In the first assignment, we are assigned to an oral task where we need to interact by giving out our ideas among of our own group members according to the topic given. My group mates consisting of Irdina, Radin and Riha.
All of us were nervous because we were afraid that we might not be able to convey the message that we want to. In the first attempt of practicing our oral task, we found it nerve wrecking to complete the task because we are under supervision of our lecturer. Thus, we have to convey our ideas as formal as possible. The oral test practice went well and we were satisfied that we did well for a first timer.
On the day of the actual oral test, we were extremely nervous, even worse to be compared with the time during oral test practice obviously. Nevertheless, we manage to practice more than four sets of modules before the test and Im proud of us. During the oral test, we got a quite hard question and I stutter a lot. My group mates did not leave me stuttering alone and even helped me in gaining ideas by giving me 'the stare' and 'the nod'. I'm relieved that Im in a group full with beautiful and helpful ladies.
For the second assignment, we were required to do a demonstrative speech. Truthfully, it is one of the toughest assignment that I have ever done. The assignment require us to demonstrate anything that can be shown in steps to the audience. I did crafts for this assignment which called paper rose.
This assignment consisting of the outline of our speech and the video of our demonstration which can only be done within five to seven minutes. I almost fainted because Im talking way faster than I do in real life so that I do not exceed the requirement of the video presentation. My classmate, Ain, has helped me in recording my video and when she told me that my video is 6 minutes 44 seconds, Im the happiest at that time being. It is so tiring because I needed to deliver my speech while doing my crafts and at the same time, displaying the best version of myself in delivering my speech.

PERSONAL REVIEW FOR TSL034 AS A WHOLE
I have to say that I really found phonetics complex still but I love how it works. This subject really helps in improving the way me talking and listening in english on a daily basis. Thanks to Miss Sakina, for willingly going back and forth to Puncak Alam when we were staying there. She is very helpful and informative about this subject and it amazes me sometimes that there's actually a of complexity in talking and listening.
This is during the last class of Fundamentals of Listening and Speaking with Miss Sakina. She gave us mini love too!
